Springfield is a haven for wildlife including the famous Red Deer, badgers, foxes and a huge variety of bird life including buzzards and other birds of prey.
Many of our guests walk from the farm to Tarr Steps on the River Barle one of Exmoor’s great beauty spots – a bridge of unhewn stone is just 1½ walk away where you may enjoy one of the best cream teas or other tasty meals at Tarr Farm and beyond to Withypool or Winsford. Springfield is just four miles from the small market town of Dulverton location for the film “Land Girls”.
The ExmoorNational park Visitor centre can be found at Dulverton with up-to-date information on the many attractions in the area including some guided walks. Try part of the Two moors way, The Coleridge Way or the South West Coast Path. Exmoor offers miles of footpaths for walkers of all ages!
Horse Riding
Exmoor is the smallest and many say the best of our National Parks, covering 267 square miles of Somerset and North Devon.
It is of course home to the rare Exmoor Pony and Springfield Farm borders the newly established Exmoor Pony Centre where you may learn about the ponies and go trekking on Exmoor . Other riding establishments are also available nearby.
